TWW Season 2: Solo Play

Image
The War Within has been a wonderful expansion for casual, solo play. Each patch has added a new way to engage in the game. Each of these modes provides end-game play that has its own transmog items, gear, mounts and pets. If you want, these can all be run with a group, but Blizzard has figured it out and made them scale up when you group up.  Dastardly Duos This is a new limited-time game mode where you and up to 4 more people fight in an arena-style battle dome. The concept that your team has been pitted by goblin promoters against animatronic knock-offs of legacy raid encounters. During the fight, your team encounters waves of trash, followed by bosses from legacy raids. Randomly, gears will drop off, which can be used as a power-up that can change the fight dynamics. There is a key that allows you to control a vehicle and use its weapons. There's a time extender to prolong the fight. Last, there's a call for reinforcements that brings in more trash mobs. There's a score ...

7.3.5 Bucket List

Image
Based on the 77 day turn around that Blizzard has been demonstrating on their patch release cycle, 7.3.5 should be dropping into production next Tuesday. With this patch comes the much anticipated content leveling (aka zoneless). BlizzWatch has a great breakdown of the various zones.. from mmo-champion Wit this, a few things are going to be a little harder when the patches drop. That 20 minute run through BT or Karazhan (BC) is going to get a lot longer. Unstead of these dungeons being level 70 content, starting with this patch, they will go to being level 80 level content. While still not a big deal for a max level character, it will mean a slightly longer dungeon run. Farming Transmogrification Outfits While trying to build an interesting Holy Paladin xmog, I found that I had the shoulders from the Judgement Armor recolor set. This BC dungeon tier set is dropped from many of the BC dungeons. My priority for this outfit will be the legs and chest. I am not so concerned wi...

Pirate Pandaren:

Image
Ever since Teddi equipped the Admiral's cap, I've been working to fit him out as a pirate. So far, it's been a matter of looking at the AH, for stuff that I 'think' looks pirate-y. Oh, look this bracers, or this chest piece. Boo. I had found the a chest piece at a vendor in town, only to find that it's not xmog-able. But of course. Then I went and started searching the AH, found a vest, and it's cloth and "can't be used to provide look for this item." Bleh. Wow Role Play Gear: Pirate 4  Back to Wowhead, I found a comment pointing over to WowRolePlayGear.com . Over here they have 'builds', how hard it is to complete (BOE, crafting and some luck). With that I've fallen in love with " PIRATE IV ', an alliance only (OMG REALLY?!) set posted back in 2012. The centerpiece of this set is the chest, Knightbane Carapace . Problem being it's a rogue class chest, so there's a different model for the horde vs the all...

Dress for Success: Gul'dan

Image
All across Azeroth, warlocks are looking up to one of the most influential warlocks of our times, Gul'dan. His influence has been felt for several expansions and even plays a major role for the next years to come. Elkagorasa has started collecting pieces to put together a similar set. Here's where he's at so far. Nice look, but won't pass for Gul'dan. (click image for 'dressing room') Chest, Gloves and Shoulders of the  Corruptor raiment  (we actually are sporting the  T5 Warlock set ). The shoulders miss out on the wrath style glyphs on them, but definitely have the skulls on barbs going for them.  Head:  Nightsky Cowl  - which I actually like this better than the corruptor head piece.  Belt: Primal Gladiator's Cord of Prowess  - this is a PVP piece that sells for 1750 honor .  Main hand: Headmaster's Charge which is an heirloom item. Not a great coloring, but the extra skull adds nice flavor. Have to try out some cosmeti...
